Assignment Management Scalability

Enables programs to adopt assignment capabilities and  workflows, at scale, without configuring every course section individually.

Placement Journey Dashboards

The Placement Journey Dashboard aggregates all information in ELC related to a student’s placement group including: placement site and supervisor, placement dates, timesheet data, assignment completion, competency attainment, and placement completion status.

• Students gain a single view of all placement requirements, empowering them to take ownership of their journey.

• Faculty can track individual student progress and view a summary across an entire placement group.

• University leadership can compare placement completion across groups and programs.

Learn more here: Placement Journey Dashboard for Faculty

Brings every student’s placement details into one place, giving students, faculty, and university leadership the visibility needed to stay on track.

Group - Track Link

The group-time track link creates a direct link between a student’s time track and the class in which it was assigned.

Timesheets created on a track will be linked to the class in which the track was assigned, unless the track was assigned to the student in multiple classes. In which case, students will have the choice to select a class.

Students will also have a shortcut allowing them to log hours directly from the track assignment in their assignments workspace.

Learn more here: Group - Track link

Helps with reporting of students’ hours accrued by class, an important requirement for teacher education programs that need direct linking between a placement, course, and time tracked.

They will now be able to report on students’ hours by class, even if a track is used across multiple classes.

Placement Groups Enhancements

Programs can now better control which students have access to a given placement group. Legacy programs can continue leaving placement groups open to all members or choose to restrict access to a placement via their participation in a group.

Learn more here: Admins & Site Process Builder

The link between groups/courses and placement groups will bring together student placements and placement requirements (assignments, time tracking, assessment standards).

As a placement approver, you can now export student placement information during the placement process and re-import completed placements to the grid later.

This supports complementary workflows while ensuring all placements are ultimately tracked in ELC's placement process.

Supports complementary workflows while allowing all placements to ultimately be tracked in ELC’s placement process.

Program Administrative Functions Plus+ admins now have two new permissions to intervene when an assignment gets stuck on an unresponsive user:

• Skip required signature/review steps on an assignment
• Revert assignments entirely

This enables Program Administrative Functions Plus+ admins to keep assignments moving without waiting on others to act.

Prevents assignments from stalling indefinitely due to an unresponsive student, site supervisor, or other party.

The updated BBS Supervision Agreement form (ELC-1040) is now available for use.

As a Program admin, you can add it as an assignment in new or existing classes, class templates, and active site placement processes.

Note: For ongoing courses and placements, we recommend assigning the new form and marking the previous version as optional.

Ensures California students are completing the most current version of the BBS Supervision Agreement, keeping programs aligned with the latest BBS compliance requirements.

A new option, Enable Assignment Re-Open Requests for Admins is now available in the Program Settings.

When enabled, students can submit assignment re-open requests to users with the Program Administrative Function Plus + role and supervision over the relevant program, in addition to faculty.

When disabled, only faculty can receive these requests.

• Understanding Roles
• Making Changes to Completed Assignments

Gives programs more flexibility in managing assignment re-open requests without requiring admins to have supervision over every class.

This feature improves collaboration between university placement teams and representatives of a placement network (i.e. a school district or hospital system) in states and regions where the districts dictate student placements rather than the university placement teams.

• Referral of Students to Sites and Parent Sites
• The Placement Approval Grid
• Reviewing Student Referrals (for Authorized Site Representatives)

Centralizes all placement coordination in ELC for teacher education placement teams and tools for district representatives to allocate student placements.

As an administrative staff, you can add, edit, and import user Emergency contact information. Users can also update their own Emergency Contact details in their profile.

A new Openings Data tab and table have been added to the Site Placements workspace.

The table displays the total number of students per placement group alongside the total number of available placement openings, with expandable rows showing individual site opening details.

Learn more about the Openings Data Table here: Openings Data Table

Enables programs to gain visibility into the total number of placement openings secured for their students.

Helps placement officers validate that openings are sufficient and aligned with student demand, reducing uncertainty during placement coordination.

A new Group Information widget has been added to the Student Dashboard to display information such as Student name, courses, enrollment statuses, etc.

Allows Authorized Site Representatives (ASRs) to assign available site supervisors to placement openings so that placement coordinators can accurately assign supervisors to students.

A new “About” field has been added to Site Placement Process tasks, so that forms and documents related to sites and supervisors can be completed and saved directly within the relevant records (e.g., the corresponding site).

Learn more: How to Build a New Site Placement Process

This feature introduces an optional confirmation step where an ASR can verify whether the number of openings for their site is accurate for a given term. Additionally, opening periods can be reset and reused each term, so that site representatives only need to update and confirm their previous openings totals once rather than re-entering the same information repeatedly.

Learn more: Site Management (for Authorized Site Representatives) and Site Openings Management (for Admins)

Prevents out-of-date openings data from being used in student placements.

Also enables placement teams to use the openings feature to request a number of placement opportunities at a site. Subsequently, the site representatives can update the total number of openings as needed and use the confirmation status to finalize the number of openings.

The newly improved rubric builder table enables program admins with the Form Builder Beta role to create and edit rubrics with better usability and efficiency.

Program admins can now create form-based filters across multiple tables (Users, Placements, Mass Updates, etc).

With this release, we are prioritizing accessibility improvements—an ongoing effort that will continue to expand over the coming months.

Following are the accessibility highlights from this release:

• Color contrast throughout default theme improved according to WCAG 2.1 guidelines.
• Improved reading of form checkboxes and radio buttons by screen reader users (this will apply to any list fields and rubric criteria on forms).
• Improved keyboard navigation across menus and tabs.

The new ‘Field Liaison’ quick add button allows programs to give the necessary roles and tags to field liaison users.

The new dashboard helps placement approvers gain insight into:

• The number of students at each status in the placement process.
• The relative statuses of all students for each task in the placement process.
• The number of available openings relative to the number of students in the placement group.
