Overview

Timesheets can now be linked directly to classes/groups. This connection enables class-level reporting for admins and a quicker time-tracking option for students.

Logging Time on a Linked Track

If a time track is linked to a class, the Group field on students' timesheets will observe the following behavior:

• If students are only in one class tied to that track, the Group field auto-fills.
• If students are in more than one class using the same track, they will be prompted to select which class the hours belong to.

Note: This field is optional. Students can leave it blank without blocking their ability to log time.

Logging Time from Assignments Workspace

Students can log hours directly from their track assignment instead of creating a new time entry from scratch. They can do so by following these steps:

1. Navigate to the track assignment in the Assignments workspace.

2. Click the Enter time button.
3. A time entry modal opens with the Group field already filled in, since the class is tied to that specific assignment.

4. If the class is linked to a placement group, students' site and supervisor fields also fill in automatically when there is only one option. If there is more than one, students will have to select it manually.

Filtering Time Reports by Class

1. Open one of the following reports: 501, 502, 514A/B, 519, 522A/B, 523, 524, 525, 526, or 527.
2. Use the Group(s) filter to select the class(es) that you'd like to report on.

3. Run the report. Hours will be scoped to the specified class instead of the entire track.

On reports with a report heading (501, 502, 514A/B, 519, 522A/B, 523), the filtered class will display in that heading. On 524, 525, 526, and 527, it displays as its own column instead.

Note: Reports 524, 525, and 526 also have a field called Group. This is a separate, older field labeled Get students from Group, used to pull students into the report. It is different from the Group filter used for class-level filtering, so ensure you are using the correct field for your intended result.
