Do I need SQL on my computer to read or write @RISK libraries on other computers?

 

Answer:
Yes, to access @RISK Library databases on another computer, your local machine needs compatible SQL software (SQL Server or SQL Native Client). The computer hosting the database must have SQL Server and a Server version of Windows.

• To connect to a remote database, open the @RISK Library window, click the books icon, select Connect, choose an authentication method, pick the remote computer, and select the database.

• To create a new remote database, click the books icon, select Create, choose authentication, pick the remote computer, enter a database name, and click Create.

@RISK remembers connections for next time. Access requires proper privileges; missing rights or incorrect credentials can prevent connection or creation.
