Overview

In general, you can upgrade for free if you have a current maintenance agreement.

If your maintenance contract has lapsed, please contact your Lumivero sales manager for upgrade pricing.

Note: Upgrades to version 8.x and up are offered through a subscription model only.

Upgrading Standalone Versions

An annual @RISK subscription is available from our Lumivero Shop Page.  It can be purchased as an Industrial or Commercial Edition.

Upgrading Certificate-Based
Concurrent Networks

A transition period is available by means of a short-term license for the new release in addition to the existing production.

1. Contact your Lumivero sales office to request the upgrade. Make sure you have your serial number handy.
2. Within a day or two, you will receive an email containing a new Activation ID and links to download the server and client software.
3. Install the new server software and get the license certificate.
   1. The certificate will include a short-term license for the new release in addition to your original license.
   2. The short-term license is good for only 30 days from the date you receive it.
   3. Install the client software.
      1. The older client software can be uninstalled first, or left installed.
      2. If it is left installed, clients can continue to run the old version during the transition period.
      3. The old and new versions won't interfere with each other but can't be run at the same time.
4. If you have any older DTS software versions as active add-ins in Excel, remove them.
   1. Click File » Options » Add-Ins.
   2. At the bottom of the right-hand panel, click Go.
   3. Remove the tick marks for the old versions, and click OK.
      1. Add-ins are a per-user option, so this change needs to be made under the end user's profile.
      2. Our software does not need to be an active add-in, unless you want it to start every time Excel starts.
5. When all clients have been upgraded, or when the transition period expires, contact Technical Support for a production license of the new release.
6. On the clients, uninstall the old software and/or shortcuts. (optional)
