How to Configure Jaspersoft Studio

 

Overview

After installation, Jaspersoft Studio requires three configuration tasks before it can communicate with the Risk Controller server:

• Create the rdql.properties file with server connection details
• Register the driver file (rdqldatasource-full.jar) in the Java Build Path
• Add the RDQL query language property to the workspace

Note: Users who have already completed an upgrade per the installation article do not need to repeat this configuration — settings carry over automatically.

 

Step 1 — Create the rdql.properties File

• Create the following folder in the local user folder:
  • C:\Users\<account>\Predict\Risk Reporter\
• Inside that folder, create a new text file named rdql.properties.
• Open the file in a text editor and add the required properties

 

RDQL Properties

Property	Description
prc.server	Hostname or alias of the Risk Controller server
prc.port	Port number the server listens on
prc.secure	Set to TRUE if the server uses HTTPS
prc.user	Login name for the Predict! Risk Reporter user account
prc.useToken	Set to TRUE to connect automatically using the current Windows login (same machine only)

 

Notes: 

• Only change the value after the = sign on each line.
• Do not modify the property names.
• The user account password is entered in Jaspersoft Studio at connection time — it does not go in this file.

 

Step 2 — Register the Driver File

• Ensure rdqldatasource-full.jar (from Report Design\Driver on the installation media) is saved locally.
• Open Jaspersoft Studio and select Get Started.
• Click the Project Explorer tab.
• Right-click the PRR_Project folder and select Properties.
• Select Java Build Path > Libraries tab > Add External JARs.
• Browse to and select rdqldatasource-full.jar, then click OK.

 

Step 3 — Add the RDQL Workspace Property

• In Jaspersoft Studio, select Window > Preferences.
• Expand JasperReports Studio and select Properties.
• Click Add and enter the following property name and value:
  • net.sf.jasperreports.query.executer.factory.rdql = com.riskdecisions.rdql.RDQLQueryExecuterFactory
• Click OK and close Preferences.
