Graduate Access to Sonia Online

How long can graduates access Sonia Online?

• Students can keep access as long as your institution is a Sonia client.

• SSO users: Can continue signing in with University credentials while active.

• If University credentials expire, they can switch to Sonia authentication (unique Sonia password).

  • Requires your Sonia instance to use “mixed” authentication.

  • Contact Sonia Support for setup help.

Restricting access after graduation:

1. In the Students module, go to the Search tab.

2. Search using a common identifier (e.g., placement group code, Subject, Semester, Year).

3. Click Sonia Online Sign In on the ribbon.

4. Check Set Access → Locked and uncheck Approved.

   • This locks their account and prevents login.

License considerations:

• Graduates do not count toward your license quota. Only students currently in placement count.

What can graduates see if access is allowed?

• All prior placement data, forms, and history remain visible.

• Completed placement groups move details to the History tab.

• Students can download a Placement Transcript:

This ensures graduates retain a record of their placements while giving you control over access.
