Protecting the design of a form

Sometimes a placement officer has spent quite a bit of time on a form and wants to ensure other users do not accidentally, or intentionally, modify a form they have worked on so meticulously. 

On the Details page of a form, there is a checkbox titled “School admin only”.  If checked, the form design will be locked.  It can still be used – the form can be assigned to people, data can be edited and exported – but the design of the form will be inaccessible.



To prevent changes to a form, lock its design with a password.  In the form screen above, all of the fields on the Details and Design tabs are disabled and cannot be edited.

Click the Secure Details and Design button and select “Add password” to set a password for the form. Note that you will need to save the form for this to take effect.

Now if you want to modify the form or any of its settings, you will need to choose “Enter password” and type the correct password.

Caution: this password cannot be retrieved by the Sonia team, so if you forget it, you will need to arrange for Sonia Support to remove the password from the form.
