Conditional (logic-based) branching

Conditional branching can be achieved in @RISK by using standard Excel logic.

 

To create conditional branching:

1. In Microsoft Project, make the Predecessors column visible before importing the MPP file into @RISK.
   This ensures @RISK includes it on the Tasks sheet.

2. If you already imported the MPP file, you can still add the Predecessors column in Excel without re-importing.

3. In the Predecessors cell of the task where you want conditional branching, enter an IF( ) formula that returns different predecessor IDs depending on your logic.

   Example:
   =IF(A1>100,"5","6")
   This makes the task depend on Task 5 or Task 6 depending on the value in A1.

This approach provides deterministic, logic-based branching rather than probabilistic branching.
