Answer

Your project data is external to the NVivo application and is stored in the Documents folder of your device by default:

NVivo for Windows (.nvp – MyProject.nvp)
NVivo for Mac (.nvpx - MyProject.nvpx)

You will be able to access NVivo and open the project if you decide to purchase a full version.

If you purchase the software or obtain a full license key for the same version of NVivo, you can replace your key following the steps in the "Replacing a License" User Help link for your version.
