@Risk: Task Numbers in the Risk Categories Dialog

Risk Categories shows Microsoft Project Unique IDs, not visible Task IDs. Insert the Unique ID column in Project or Excel to cross-reference tasks.

The task numbers in Risk Categories may not match Microsoft Project or Excel because they use the Unique ID instead of the visible task ID.

Details:

In Microsoft Project, every task has:
1. Task ID – shown at the left; can change when tasks are inserted or deleted.
2. Unique ID – assigned when the task is created; never changes.
@RISK’s Risk Categories always shows the Unique ID, not the visible Task ID.
This ensures that references remain consistent even if tasks are added, removed, or reordered.

How to view Unique IDs:

In Project: Right-click a column → Insert Column → Unique ID.
In Excel via @RISK: Project → Project Link → Insert or Hide Field → select Unique ID.

Using Unique IDs allows you to reliably identify tasks across simulations, imports, and reports.
