Why Aren’t All Tasks Showing in the Gantt Chart After Importing an MPP File?

Question:
I imported an MPP file from @RISK or Microsoft Project, but the Gantt chart in Excel doesn’t show all tasks. Is there a task limit?

Answer:

• Visual Limit Only:

  • @RISK 6.1+ displays a maximum of 3,000 bars on the Gantt chart.

  • This is only a display limit; all tasks are still included in the simulation.

• Recommendation:

  • For projects with hundreds or thousands of tasks, it is usually better not to create the Gantt chart.

  • You can disable it as default in Application Settings, or manually in Charts and Reports → Standard Gantt Chart.

Summary:
The missing tasks are a visual limitation, not a simulation limitation. All tasks are still simulated correctly.
