At the end of installing @RISK or DecisionTools Suite, should I install SQL?

 

Answer:
Installing SQL is optional. Only the @RISK Library feature (Professional or Industrial editions) uses SQL; no other @RISK or DecisionTools applications require it.

Use SQL if you want to store and share distributions or simulation results via the @RISK Library.

Decision Guide:

• Don’t install SQL if you don’t need the @RISK Library. You can add it later if needed.

• @RISK Standard users don’t need SQL; the Library isn’t available.

• @RISK 6.2 or Up: SQL Server is needed on computers hosting Library databases. Local computers hosting databases need SQL Server; remote access requires SQL Server or SQL Native Client.
