@Risk/DTS: "Error in loading DLL" (at Startup)

DLL load errors can occur from multiple @RISK copies, unregistered VB6/.NET, or orphaned Excel registry keys. Check add-ins and re-register runtimes.

Error: Loading DLL Fails

You may see an error like:

Additional info may indicate a PalFlex file.

"Unable to load DLL" for a PalFlex file

Error occurs when opening via File » Open or Browse, but not via desktop icon
See @RISK Initializes, But No Tab Appears in Ribbon.
Multiple copies of @RISK installed
- Go to File » Options » Add-Ins.
- Click Go at the bottom right.
- Uncheck RISKOptimizer or rpjexcel if selected.
Visual Basic 6 Runtime or .NET not registered
- Re-register VB6 Runtime following the standard procedure.
Orphaned Excel references in the registry
- Remove outdated Office references via Removing Outdated References to Office from the System Registry.

These steps usually resolve DLL load errors.
