Sonia: Placement Group Key Events

Placement officers can identify specific events/tasks/actions that Sonia Online users can do during a specified time frame. These are specific to the individual placement group and defined on the Details page of the placement group.

When an event is chosen, define the dates between which that event is active.

• Preferences: The time frame for when students can select site preferences in Sonia Online. Note that students can only preference sites that have been added as placement requests into their placement group. Rules for preferencing can be set in the Placement Settings.  
• Review: Students can browse the Sites that have been added to this Placement Group. The intention is to provide students with an opportunity to do some research on the sites before they enter their preferences. Another scenario might be to provide students with a selected list of sites they can contact to initiate their candidacy for a placement.
• Students can allocate themselves: Students can allocate themselves to any available placements in their placement group (i.e., the site must be a Confirmed placement request with a Confirmed number higher than the number Allocated).  Allocation follows all rules defined in the Placement Settings.
• Students can join the placement group: Students can add themselves to the placement group
• Sites can add interviews: Sites can create interview time slots for potential students
• Students Select Interviews: Students can select any available interview time slots with sites
• Interviews restricted: Limits the date/time range when interviews can be held
• Sites create advertisements: Sites can add new placement requests to the placement group
• Ignore all checks: Allows students to participate in above events and/or be allocated regardless of having completed any mandatory Checks
• Self-selected reviewers enabled: Students can select forms to peer-review
