Copying a Story in SharpCloud

Overview

Copying a story in SharpCloud creates an identical, editable version of the original, including all data and structure. This is useful for reusing content or creating variations of an existing story.

If a read-only version is required instead, archiving the story is recommended.

Note:

1. Only Owners can copy a story.
   1. Creators can also copy stories if they have been granted permission in Story Setup.
   2. The Co-Owners feature is available in SharpCloud v9.4.0703 and later.

How to Copy a Story

To copy a story:

1. Click the arrow next to Story Setup
2. Select Copy Story
3. In the dialog, choose which elements (such as shares) to include
   1.
4. Confirm the action to create the copy

Sharing Considerations

If shares are not included in the copy:

• Only the owner will have access
• Team members will have access if the story is within a team

Including shares ensures the same access permissions are carried over.

Connected Stories Consideration

If the story is part of a Connected Enterprise Solution:

• The copied story will remain within the same solution
• It will stay linked to the same template as the original story
