Overview

The Openings Data tab in the Site Placements workspace gives placement officers and district representatives a clear view of how many placement openings have been secured across their placement groups. For each group, the tab displays the total number of students alongside the total number of available openings, providing the visibility needed to confirm that openings are sufficient before the placement process begins.

Openings data is available per placement group. For openings to appear correctly in this tab, site opening periods must be linked to a placement group. Openings not linked to any placement group are reflected in a blank aggregate row at the top of the table.

Navigating to the Openings Data Tab

1. Go to the Program Management | Supervision environment
2. Open the Site Placements workspace
3. Select the Openings Data tab

Viewing Site Openings for a Placement Group

Selecting a row in the Openings Data table opens a detailed view listing the individual site openings that make up the Total Openings for that placement group. Openings may come from multiple opening periods, all tied to the selected group.

The following columns are shown by default:

• Openings Period: The opening period associated with the site opening
• Site: The name of the placement site
• Classification: The classification associated with the opening
• Start Date: The start date of the site opening
• Stop Date: The end date of the site opening
• Max Openings: The maximum number of openings available at the site
• Position Details: Any additional notes about the opening
• Last Edited: The date the opening record was last updated
• Last Edited By: The user who last updated the opening record

Note: Select the Gear Icon in the right above the table to display additional columns.

Filtering and the Filtered Openings Total

Use the filters at the top of the table to narrow down the rows displayed - select or enter values for any available filter field to find specific placement groups. Additional filters can be found in the More menu

The Filtered Openings total updates as filters are applied. This value reflects the total number of openings matching the current filter selections, making it straightforward to validate available openings within a specific period, program, or date range.

Best Practices

• Link opening periods to placement groups before reviewing openings totals to ensure accurate, group-level counts.
• Use the Filtered Openings total in the detail view to validate openings for a specific period, program, or date range
• Review the blank aggregate row periodically to identify unassigned openings that may need to be linked to a placement group.
