No Data Showing on Tasks/Resources Worksheets After Import

 

Background/Cause:

When importing a project into @RISK, Excel may show blank Tasks and Resources sheets even if the import completes. This usually happens because the project has no valid Gantt view or the file is corrupted.

Solution:

1. Check the Gantt view in Microsoft Project:

   • Open the project in Project, not in @RISK.

   • Go to View » Organizer.

   • Copy the default Gantt Chart from Global.MPT to your project.

   • If Project says a Gantt chart already exists, overwrite it.

   • Save the project.

2. Repair a potentially corrupted .MPP file:

   • Open the project in Project (without @RISK running).

   • Export it to XML format.

   • Close Project.

   • Reopen the XML file and save it as a new .MPP file.

After these steps, import the project into @RISK again. Tasks and resources should now appear correctly.
