Repairing the DecisionTools Suite / @RISK or Excel Instead of Reinstalling

Overview
When troubleshooting problems, users often uninstall and reinstall the software. While that can be appropriate in some cases, a repair install is usually faster and just as effective. A repair restores program files without disturbing existing activations, and trial versions remain valid until their original expiration date.

Why use Repair instead of Uninstall/Reinstall?
A repair fixes missing or corrupted files while preserving licensing and activation status. It avoids the need to reactivate the software and reduces the risk of introducing new issues.

Procedure (via Windows Programs list)
You must be logged in as a full administrator to install, uninstall, or repair the software.

1. Open the Windows Programs list.
2. Locate the DecisionTools Suite entry.
   1. It may appear under D or T; @RISK is typically near the top, and version 8.0 is listed under P.
3. Select the DecisionTools Suite entry and choose Repair from the menu above the list.
   1. If Repair is not available and you only see Change and Remove, click Change to launch the setup program, then select Repair.
   2. If the repair succeeds, the window will close automatically. If it fails, an error message will be displayed.

Alternative procedure (using the installer)
You must be logged in as a full administrator.

1. Re-run the DecisionTools Suite installer.
2. When prompted to choose between Modify, Repair, or Remove, select Repair and follow the prompts.

If you're not sure you have the correct installer, you can contact Support by logging into the Lumivero Community Home Page and clicking on the Submit a Case button to fill out a form for requesting assistance.

If you are still having an issue, you can also run a Repair of Excel/Office.
