Prerequisites for Installing DecisionTools Suite 8.x

 

1. Microsoft .NET Framework 4

• Windows 7 and 10 already include .NET 4.

• To check or enable it:

  1. Go to Programs and Features → Turn Windows Features On or Off.

  2. If .NET 4 is listed, enable it (check the box) or repair it if needed using the Microsoft .NET Framework Repair Tool.

  3. If .NET 4 is not listed, download and install it: Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0

• Any 4.x version of .NET with a CLR of 4 is sufficient; no need to reinstall if already present.

2. Microsoft Visual C++ Universal Runtime

• Install from: Visual C++ Runtime Downloads

• 32-bit Windows: Install the 32-bit (x86) version.

• 64-bit Windows: Install both x86 and x64 versions.

• Do not install the ARM version.

3. Visual Basic 6 Runtime (end-user requirement)

• Needed by DecisionTools Suite software, not the installer.

• Usually included in Windows.

• Verify presence and update if needed: Visual Basic 6 Runtime Check.

4. Visual Basic for Applications (VBA)

• Required by end-user software, not the installer.

• Usually installed with Microsoft Office.

• Ensure it is present and enabled. Install or enable through Office setup if necessary.

Tip: For unattended installs using an MSI installer, manually install .NET Framework 4 and Visual C++ Universal Runtime before running the installer.
