Applies to: @RISK 6.2 and Up

Problem:

The small progress window is not visible when a simulation is running.

Cause:

There are a few causes for this behavior.

1. Simulation settings — @RISK 6.2 and Up
   1. A simulation setting lets you prevent the progress window from appearing during simulation. This setting is stored with the workbook. 
      1. Check the workbook to see if it is set to inhibit the progress window. 
         1. Open the Simulation Settings dialog, and on the View tab verify that Show Simulation Progress Window is selected. 
         2. If it's not selected, select it, click OK, and save the workbook.
2. Progress window is off screen — @RISK 5.7 and Up:
   1. The location of the Progress Window is stored in a registry key.
      1. It's possible that at some point the Progress Window was moved outside of the visible display area.
      2. Deleting the registry key will force @RISK to display the Progress Window in its default, visible location.
         1. Close all Excel/@RISK.
         2. Open REGEDIT (Start → Run).
         3. Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Palisade@RISK for Excel.
         4. Open 8.0 / 7.0 / 6.0 / 5.0 as applicable.
         5. Open RiskModel → Windows.
         6. Right-click Progress Window → Delete.
         7. Restart @RISK, open your model, and run a simulation.
      3. The Progress Window should now be visible, and @RISK should remember its position next time.
3. RiskProgress.exe blocked by an antivirus program
   1. Check your antivirus logs and make certain that it has not decided to block RiskProgress.exe. If it has, enter RiskProgress.exe as an exception.
