This article describes the process of creating an upload assignment in a class template. Click here to learn more about class templates.

Creating an Upload Assignment

1. Go to the Assignments tab in your class template
2. Click (+) to create a new assignment
3. The assignment builder will populate

Required Settings

• Name: Enter the name of the assignment.
• Assignment Type: Select Upload as the type of assignment.
• Document Type: Click the dropdown menu and select the document type that students must upload.
  • If you do not see the document type you need, simply select "Other"
  • If you select the "Liability Insurance" document type, the person uploading the document will be required to enter their insurance policy's expiration date prior to uploading it.
• About: Select who the uploaded document is about. Choose between student, faculty, and supervisor. This will determine which user's record the document will be stored in.
• Completed by: Select the person who will upload the document: either the Assignee (the student), their Instructor, or their Supervisor. Again, in most cases, reports will be completed by the student.
• Approval Process: Upload assignments do not include signatures, but if you would like the assignment to be reviewed before it is considered complete, you can add a reviewer. To add a reviewer to the assignment, click the (+) at the top of the Approval Process table, then select the specific person or reviewer group that will review the assignment.
  • Since this assignment is being created in a class template, you will need to give someone supervision over the class template in order to add an individual reviewer to the assignment. Learn why here.

Optional Additions

• Instructions: Click the ellipses to add any additional instructions that students may need to complete the assignment.

  • Required for all members of the class or program (this is the default setting).
  • Optional for all members of the class or program.
