Overview

If you are configuring an LTI integration for multiple programs that use Experiential Learning Cloud, you must complete these steps for each program. Each developer key will be differentiated by a unique custom parameter (see Part 1 > Step 6). If you do not know the name(s) of your program(s) in Experiential Learning Cloud, please ask your Implementation Specialist.
 

Part 1: Instructions for Creating the Developer Key

1. Under Site Admin, go to Developer Keys 
2. Click + Developer Key
3. Select + LTI Key
4. Input the following data in the fields listed below:
   NOTE: In this step, replace schoolcode with the domain for your institution's Experiential Learning Cloud database URL (e.g. if your Experiential Learning Cloud database URL is abc.lumivero-elc.app, schoolcode should be replaced with abc). If you do not know your Experiential Learning Cloud database URL, please ask your Implementation Specialist.
   • Key Name: Experiential Learning Cloud [program name] LTI 1.3
   • Redirect URIs: https://schoolcode.lumivero-elc.app/sso/lti13
   • Method: Select Manual Entry
   • Title: Experiential Learning Cloud [program name] LTI 1.3
   • Description: Create your own description (e.g. Experiential Learning Cloud LTI 1.3 Tool for [program name])
   • Target Link URI: https://schoolcode.lumivero-elc.app/sso/lti13
   • OpenID Connect Initiation URL: https://schoolcode.lumivero-elc.app/sso/lti13
   • JWK Method: Select Public JWK URL
   • Public JWK URL: https://schoolcode.lumivero-elc.app/sso/lti13/jwks
5. Expand the LTI Advantage Services dropdown menu and toggle on the following:
   • Can create and view assignment data in the gradebook associated with the tool
   • Can view assignment data in the gradebook associated with the tool
   • Can view submission data for assignments associated with the tool
   • Can create and update submission results for assignments associated with the tool
   • Can retrieve user data associated with the context the tool is installed in
   • Can lookup Account Information
6. Expand the Additional Settings dropdown and input the following:
   • Custom Fields: program=program name (e.g. program=CMHC)
   • Privacy Level: Select PUBLIC
7. Under Placements, select (at minimum) the following options:
     This determines where the LTI tool appears as a selection option in your courses (additional options can be selected based on your needs and how your Canvas instance is set up).
   • Link Selection
8. Click Save
9. Turn on the new Developer Key
10. Copy the Client ID and save it for Part 2
     The Client ID is located in the Details column of the Developer Key list (e.g. 10000000000025)

 

Part 2: Instructions for Installing the App

Once the placement has been created, the tool can be added to the account, sub-account, or course level. 

NOTE: It works best to install the LTI 1.3 app at the lowest level of organization needed in your Canvas instance. If the program you are installing this for is within a sub-account, it is recommended that you install the app there rather than at the organization-wide level.
 

1. Within the account, sub-account, or course, go to Settings > Apps, then click View App Configurations
2. Click + App
3. Input the following data in the fields listed below:
   • Configuration Type: Select By Client ID
   • Client ID: Enter the Client ID you saved in Part 1 > Step 10
4. Click Submit
5. Click Install
