How to: Use the Operational Dashboards Fieldwork Reports

Overview

The Fieldwork Reports feature in the Operational Dashboards allows you to monitor fieldwork activity and generate reports based on your project's operational data. In addition to several built-in reports, you can create custom reports tailored to your reporting needs using pivot-style analysis.

This guide covers the following topics:

• Step 1: Define the report date range and survey

• Step 2: Run the pre-set reports

• Step 3: Create custom reports

Step 1: Define the Report Date Range and Survey

To generate Fieldwork Reports:

1. Open the project and expand the Dashboards node.

2. Double-click the Fieldwork Reports node.

3. Select the appropriate filters, including:

   • Date range

   • Survey

   • Interview types to include

4. Once the filters have been configured, click Refresh to generate the reports.

Step 2: Run the Pre-Set Reports

After clicking Refresh, the Fieldwork Reports screen opens with the first pre-set report, Daily Uploads by Surveyor, already displayed.

To switch between reports, select a report from the Preset Views list.

The following pre-set reports are available:

Daily Uploads by Surveyor

Displays the number of interviews uploaded by each interviewer for each day, along with daily totals.

Daily Uploads by Survey Version

Displays the number of uploaded interviews by survey version within the selected date range.

This report is useful for confirming that interviewers have updated to the latest survey version and that no new interviews are being collected using outdated versions.

Daily Uploads by Interview Status

Displays the number of interviews in each status for every day within the selected period.

This report helps identify interviews that remain in statuses requiring follow-up, such as interviews awaiting approval.

Daily Filtered Interviews

Displays interviews grouped by the question index that caused them to be filtered.

• • A value of -1 indicates that the interview was not filtered.

Note: To obtain accurate results, enable the Include Filtered Interviews option in the report filters.

GPS Usage by Surveyor

Compares the number of completed interviews against the number completed with GPS information for each interviewer.

This report helps identify interviewers who are not consistently capturing GPS data.

Attachments Uploaded by Surveyor

Displays the number of interviews uploaded by each interviewer and the number of attachments uploaded on each day.

This report is useful for verifying that attachments are being collected as expected.

Step 3: Create Custom Reports

In addition to the built-in reports, you can generate custom reports using the available operational data fields.

To create a custom report:

1. Select Custom from the Preset Views list.

2. Drag the desired fields into the pivot report areas.

Example: Interview Status by Surveyor

This example creates a report showing interview statuses broken down by interviewer.

Add the Value

Drag Interviews to the Values area.

This tells the report to summarize the total number of interviews.

Add the Row Breakdown

Drag Surveyor to the Row Labels area.

The report now displays interview totals for each interviewer.

Add the Column Breakdown

Drag Status to the Column Labels area.

The report now shows the number of interviews for each interviewer, broken down by interview status.

Add an Additional Breakdown by Day

To further analyze the data, drag UploadTime.Day to the Column Labels area.

This creates a second-level breakdown, allowing you to view interview statuses by interviewer and by day.

Available Value Fields

The following measures can be added to the Values area:

• #Interviews – Total number of interviews

• GPS – Number of interviews containing GPS information

• Attachments – Total number of attachments uploaded

By combining different fields in the Row Labels, Column Labels, and Values areas, you can generate a wide variety of custom fieldwork reports, including multi-level analyses tailored to your operational requirements.
