Child Survey Sample

The attached survey files (.srv) demonstrate the child survey technique.

The Parent survey sample captures the names and ages of household members. This information is collected inside a Loop Chapter that repeats based on the number of household members entered.

After the loop is completed, the Child sample survey opens automatically. In the child survey, additional questions are asked about the household members entered in the parent survey, but only for members who are 21 years old or older.

This is done by creating a Loop Chapter in the child survey that repeats for the same number of household members. Each iteration is entered only if the corresponding household member from the parent survey is age 21 or older. The iteration start script pulls the relevant age value from the parent survey to determine whether the iteration should be shown.

Inside the loop, the survey asks a few simple questions. Each question displays the current household member’s name and age, which are also pulled from the parent survey.

Important: Make sure to import both surveys into your account. In addition, assign Child sample survey as the child survey of Parent survey sample.
