Data Grid in SharpCloud

Overview

The Data Grid provides a comprehensive, spreadsheet-style interface for viewing, editing, and managing all data within your story, including items, relationships, resources, tags, images, and panels.

Items Tab

The Items tab displays all items and their attribute values. It allows you to:

• Create new items (New Item)
• Delete items (Delete Items)
• Clear cell values (Delete Cells)
• Paste data from external sources such as Excel
• Select which columns to display (Select Columns)
• Fill values down across multiple items (Fill Down)

Separate tabs may exist for each category, making it easier to manage category-specific attributes.

Inherited Items and Shared Items tabs are available in Enterprise stories. Some columns may be greyed out if they must be edited in the source story.

Relationships Tab

This tab shows all relationships between items:

• Story Relationships: Created in the current story
• Inherited Relationships: From other stories in an Enterprise Solution

You can:

• Create new relationships
• Delete relationships
• Paste relationship data
• Fill down values

Resources Tab

The Resources tab manages files and links available to items:

• Add URLs, files, or related stories
• Resources can then be attached to item panels

Resources can only be added to local or shared items.

Resource URLs Tab

This tab supports bulk uploading of resource links:

• Paste multiple URLs at once
• Optionally associate them with items (by name, External ID, or Internal ID)
• Required fields include Name and URL

Tags Tab

Tags allow flexible grouping of items:

• Assign multiple tags to items
• Use tags for filtering and grouping
• Create tags via paste or manually

Tags can be structured as Group.Tag when importing data.

Images Tab

The Images tab allows bulk assignment of images to items:

• Upload images
• Assign or remove images
• Choose display options (Whole, Stretched, Zoomed)
• Use default category images

Panels Tab

Panels can be managed in bulk:

• Apply global panels across categories
• Manage item-specific panels
• Paste panel content across items or stories
