Add schools and districts directly to your list of schools in Experiential Learning Cloud, directly from the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) database.

When to Use the NCES Integration

The NCES integration can be used any time you want to add new schools to your list of schools in Experiential Learning Cloud.

How to Use the NCES Integration

1. Go to the Program Setup | Admin environment.
2. Go to the Schools (or "Sites") table.
3. Click the Import icon.
4. Choose the option: Schools (NCES Database)
5. Using the State, District, and Name filters, you can create a list of schools to be imported.
6. Using the checkboxes on the left side of the table, select the schools you would like to add to your list in Experiential Learning Cloud.
7. Click Import (#) Checked
8. Choose an Approval Status for the selected schools within your program. If you do not set a status upon import, the schools will not be associated with your program.
9. Repeat this process with any additional states, districts, or individual schools that you would like to add to your list of sites.

NOTE: Once a school has been imported, you will see a lock icon next to the school's name in the NCES Import modal. You will not be able to re-import schools that have already been imported.

Once imported, records will be created for each new school. Each record will be complete with the school's details (address, phone, program associations) and the profile will reflect key information about the school including: sector, school type, locale, grade range, and student demographics.

The school information will be updated automatically as updates are made to the NCES database.

If any schools are imported in error, you can delete them from your list of schools by selecting the checkbox on the school's record in your site list, then scrolling to the bottom of the table and clicking Delete # Schools.
