What to know first

Deleting an account is permanent. It cannot be undone, and the support team cannot restore deleted data. Please read the following information before starting the process.

What gets lost

License data
All license data is permanently lost. To use Citavi again later, a new license must be purchased.

Cloud projects
All cloud projects in the account are deleted immediately. Unlike deleting an individual project, there is no 10-day restore period.

Shared projects – please pay special attention
Deletion also affects cloud projects that other people have been invited to. Those team members lose access and can no longer continue working with the projects – even if they actively contributed to them. A team project does not stay with the team once the owner deletes the account.

Effects on other Lumivero products
Citavi credentials could form a myLumivero profile that works across all Lumivero products. If the same email address is also used for other products such as NVivo, deletion may affect those as well.

Recommended steps before deleting

• Back up all cloud projects. Start Citavi and create a backup of every cloud project worth keeping.
• Inform the team. Let everyone who was invited know in good time, so they can save their own copy of the shared projects.
• Check other products. Confirm whether the same email address is used for other Lumivero products.
• Submit the request from the email address linked to your Citavi account. If that isn't possible: attach proof that this email address belonged to you, to avoid follow-up questions and speed up the deletion.

Please contact the support team in order to delete a Citavi account.

If you're currently chatting with the chatbot, ask it to create a ticket – the request will then go straight to support.

If you've already submitted your deletion request by email, there's nothing further you need to do. Support will get back to you.
