XLSTAT: Installing the Client and connecting to a License Server

XLSTAT offers concurrent licenses. These are network licenses and can be installed on a server / client network. For more information on what is the concurrent license, please refer to this guide.

This tutorial explains how to connect to such a license server using your XLSTAT software.

Prerequisites

1. The XLSTAT License Server has been installed on a server in the organisation by an administrator.
2. You have downloaded XLSTAT.
3. The IP address of the server has been provided to you by your administrator for connecting to it.

Installation of XLSTAT

Connecting XLSTAT to the License Server

• Launch XLSTAT from the Desktop icon or via the Excel ribbon.

If this is your first time launching XLSTAT (Trial Version), the Welcome window will appear automatically. 

• Click on the Use special activation mode button in the popup window.

If you’ve already launched XLSTAT in the past (Free version):

• Click the main XLSTAT button on the left, then select Sign in and click on the Use special activation mode button.

 

• Select the Network in the activation mode field

• Enter the IP address in the specified field and activate the connection.

Note: The default port is 7070 but it can be changed. Check with your IT administrator for details if needed.

• If prompted about several licenses being available, select the one that is appropriate for your team/network. Check with your IT administrator if this information hasn't been provided.

• If the connection is successful, you will receive a message that the network connection is activated.

• Moving forward when XLSTAT is launched, it will retrieve a token from the server to work with the activated license.

If the connection fails, make sure that the IP address is correct and that the port matches the port defined on the server.
