Word's Trust Center settings are preventing the Add-In from being activated

Cause

Word's security settings (Trust Centr) have been configured so that add-ins cannot be run in Word. Word displays the message "The document contains macros. Macro language support for this application is disabled."

Solution

Open a Word document.
On the File menu, click Options.
Click Trust Center.
Click the Trust Center Settings button.
Click Add-ins.
Make sure that none of the checkboxes are selected:
Click Macro Settings.
Make sure that the second option is enabled:
