Citavi's Word add-in appears inactive in Word if your system administrator has disabled all add-ins via group policy. You can recognize this setting by the fact that you can only use Citavi's Word add-in if you start Word with administrator rights. In the Word options, you will see in the Trust Center that the option Disable all application add-ins (may impair functionality) is enabled and grayed out. You may even be able to enable macros, but the Word add-in will still be grayed out.
