Overview

An SAML 2.0 SSO (Single Sign-On) integration allows students and faculty to log into Experiential Learning Cloud (ELC) with a click of a button rather than entering their username and password each time.

Experiential Learning Cloud, in collaboration with your institution's IT department, can integrate with your institution's SSO provider (e.g. Microsoft, Google, Okta, etc.) through a fairly simple setup process.

Setup Procedures

Step 1: Send your Metadata XML file to your Experiential Learning Cloud Integrations Specialist
Once configured in ELC, your Integrations Specialist will provide you with the following configuration details:

• Single Sign-On URL
• Single Logout URL
• SP Metadata URL
• SP Issuer URL
• SP Entity ID
• Username Value (email address is the standard value)

Step 2: Configure your Identity Provider (IDP) Settings

1. Input the necessary configuration details (mentioned above) provided by your ELC Integrations Specialist
2. Ensure the username value to be sent over from your IDP to ELC matches what was specified by your Integrations Specialist
3. IMPORTANT: Configure your settings to sign both the SAML assertion and response
4. Once configured, notify your ELC Integrations Specialist, and they will guide you through the final step of testing the integration

Customization Option: Login with Button

On Experiential Learning Cloud's Login page, the Login with... button can be customized to make more sense to your users. Let your ELC Integrations Specialist know if you would like to customize your Login with... button.

SAML Certificate Updates

We manually acquire data from your metadata XML file, but we do not actively use the data beyond the initial configuration, nor does it update retroactively.

If you anticipate an update to your SAML Certificate, submit a support request at least 2 weeks in advance so we can plan your update accordingly.
