How do I script the installation of my course license for an independent workstation setup?

 

MSI Installer for SCCM or Scripted Deployments

For SCCM installs or other forms of scripting, you likely want an MSI installer. 

• Please log into the Lumivero Community Home Page and click on the Submit a Case button to fill out a form for requesting assistance.
• Include your serial number with your request.
• When you get the link, make certain that the file includes "-cust-" in its name.

Your script must install the prerequisite software before installing our software from an MSI installer.

 

Client Installation Using Palisade_Course.lic

For a client install, you must have the Palisade_Course.lic file in a local folder. It does not need to be in the same folder as the installer. Replace C:\TEMP in the examples below with the folder that contains your license file. It must be the actual path; constructs like .\ will not work.

With user interface:
msiexec /i installername.msi SETUPEXEDIR=C:\TEMP

Silent install (no UI):
msiexec /i installername.msi SETUPEXEDIR=C:\TEMP /qn USERNAME="firstname lastname" COMPANYNAME="company"

Specify the USERNAME and COMPANYNAME as you want them to appear on the software’s About screen.

Optional — Suppress Desktop Shortcuts:
Add DTOPSHORTCUTS=0 to prevent creation of desktop shortcuts:
msiexec /i installername.msi SETUPEXEDIR=C:\TEMP /qn USERNAME="firstname lastname" COMPANYNAME="company" DTOPSHORTCUTS=0

SETUPEXEDIR Folder Guidelines:

• Can be different from the MSI location but must be on the local computer.

• UNC path names are not recommended; the SYSTEM account used by SCCM may not resolve them.

• Avoid special characters such as @.

• Spaces in the path may cause issues; use a simple local folder path.
