Consolidating StatTools Reports from Multiple Workbooks

 

To consolidate StatTools reports from multiple workbooks, follow these steps:

1. Export or save each report as static

   • Open each workbook.

   • Go to Utilities » Application Settings » Reports and set Updating Preference to Static.

   • Generate or update the report so all data is fixed values (not linked).

2. Copy results to a master workbook

   • Open a new Excel workbook to serve as the consolidation file.

   • Copy the static report tables or charts from each source workbook into separate sheets or a unified sheet in the master workbook.

   • Ensure headings and units are consistent across reports for easier comparison.

3. Optional: Use Excel consolidation tools

   • Use Data » Consolidate if your reports have matching structure (same columns/rows).

   • You can sum, average, or link data as needed.

4. Maintain historical context

   • Include the original workbook name, date, or scenario in each section to track source data.

5. Automation tip

   • If you regularly consolidate many workbooks, consider a VBA macro that copies specific ranges from each workbook into the master file. Make sure all ranges contain static results to avoid #NAME errors.

Note: Consolidation works best with static reports. Live reports retain links to the original workbook and may break if the source is moved or deleted.
