Overview

A direct supervision rule is characterized by the following 4 key components:

Who is the supervisor?
Who is the supervisee?
Which program is the supervisee in?
At which site does this supervision take place?

The finished rule will look something like this:

This rule identifies Madeline Leighton as the supervisor, who supervises the student, Victor Brown, within the Webinar Counseling Program at the site Washington County Schools.

Best Practice: Always include the start and end date of the students' placement with their supervisor when creating these rules. By adding these dates, your program will have better data about students' placements, students and supervisors will only be associated to one another during the defined start and end of the student's placement, and your database will stay tidy from semester to semester.
