Overview

Customizing your program's terms in Experiential Learning Cloud allows you to align your students' experience in Experiential Learning Cloud more closely with their overall experience in your program and their discipline.

Customizable Terms

The following terms commonly customized in Experiential Learning Cloud:

• User
• Site
• Site Supervisor
• Task Supervisor
• Group
• Supervisor
• Supervisee
• Field Placement Intermediary (Field Liaison)
  • Note: The label for this term is "Field Placement Intermediary" but the default term used is "Field Liaison"
• Program
• Sub-Program

By customizing these terms, you can ensure that anyone who works with your program will see the customized term, in the locations described below, rather than the original term.

• User
  • Program Administrators will see the term replacing "User" in the Users table in the Staff & Students environment, in the Users tab in a Group Record, and in the Associated Users tab in the site record.
  • Note: The term previously used in this space was "Staff/Student" - some instances may still show staff/student rather than user.

  • Students will see the term replacing "Site Supervisor" when completing the site placement process, and in the "Placement Information Tab" in their sidebar.

CAREFUL!  Customizing your program's terms may make our support content slightly more difficult for you or your students to understand, since the support content will always use the standard terms and may not match what your users are seeing in their own Experiential Learning Cloud accounts.  This cheat sheet will help your end users understand some of the most frequently customized terms: Common Terms in Experiential Learning Cloud - Cheat Sheet
