You only need to register one organization per company. If other people in your organization need access to SurveyToGo, simply create user accounts for them and provide them with their login credentials and the organization name.

Only you and the users you create can access your organization's workspace. All surveys, projects, and other resources created within the organization are private and can only be accessed by authorized users in your organization.

You can update your organization's properties and contact information at any time by right-clicking the Organization node in SurveyToGo Studio and selecting Organization Properties.

Organization Users

SurveyToGo supports two types of users:

Organization Users

Organization users are responsible for administering the SurveyToGo environment. They manage customers, projects, operations, security, and other administrative tasks using SurveyToGo Studio. Organization users do not typically conduct surveys in the field.

Surveyor Users

Surveyor users are responsible for collecting data by conducting surveys in the field. By default, surveyors do not have access to SurveyToGo Studio.

Both organization users and surveyor users have their own usernames and passwords. You can create as many users of each type as needed and organize them into groups to simplify user management and permission assignments.

 Step 1: Create organization user

To create an organization user you can either:

1. Open Users Management by double clicking on the 'Users' node under 'Studio Users & Groups' or by right clicking and selecting 'User Management':

From the 'User Management' screen select the 'Create User' option:

2. Right click the 'Users' node under 'Studio Users & Groups' and select 'Create a new User':

Then, enter the details of the organization user in the window that opens:

You need to make sure you give out a user name and a password for each organization user that you create. Once you are done filling out the information click the 'Create' button.

** Surveyor users are added in the same manner, but using the 'Users' node under 'Surveyor Users & Groups'.

Step 2: Add multiple users

If you need to create multiple organization users at once, see How to Create Multiple Users in a Bulk Action for step-by-step instructions on importing users in bulk.

Step 3: Provide the organization users with access to projects

After you define all the users of your organization, you can assign them to the projects to give them access to the project.

1. Right click on the project and choose “Security Settings”:

For detailed instructions on configuring project-level security permissions, see the Using the SurveyToGo Permissions and Security Model guide. It explains how to create security roles, assign permissions, and apply them at both the organization and project levels.

Step 4: create new groups of organization users

Option 1: Right click the “groups” node and select “create new group” option:

1. Open Groups Management by double clicking on the 'Groups' node under 'Studio Users & Groups':

From the 'Groups Management' screen select the 'Add User' option:

Option 2: Right click the 'Users' node under 'Studio Users & Groups' and select 'Create a new User':

This opens the New Group window, where you can create a group and add the appropriate members.

Once the group has been created, you can assign it the required security role or permissions. All members of the group automatically inherit the permissions assigned to that group, making it easier to manage access for multiple users.
