How To Compare Survey Versions

Overview

Survey version comparison allows you to quickly identify differences between the current version of a survey and any previous version. This is useful for reviewing script changes, troubleshooting unexpected behavior, and understanding how a survey has evolved over time.

There are two ways to compare survey versions:

Option 1: Compare versions from the project tree.
Option 2: Compare versions directly from an interview.

Option 1: Compare Survey Versions from the Project Tree

To compare survey versions from the project tree:

Locate the survey you want to review.
Right-click the survey.
Select Older Versions... from the context menu.

A list of available survey versions will be displayed, allowing you to select and compare versions side by side.

Select the two survey versions you want to compare, then click Compare Versions.

Alternatively, you can select any previous survey version and click Compare to Latest Version to compare it directly with the current version of the survey.

A split-screen comparison view will open, displaying the older survey version on the left and the newer version on the right.

Any questions that were modified in the newer version will be highlighted, making it easy to identify changes between the two versions.

Option 2: Compare Survey Versions from an Interview

When viewing an interview that was completed using an older version of the survey, you can click the interview's Survey Version to instantly compare that version with the latest version of the survey.

This allows you to quickly review any changes that were made after the interview was conducted.
