How To Change The Font Size Of Questions / Answers / Topics

Overview

SurveyToGo displays survey text using a default font size determined by the system. Depending on the device's screen resolution and the survey language, the displayed text size may vary.

This article explains how to control the font size of questions, answers, and topics through scripting, as well as how to apply a consistent font size across the entire survey.

Available Font Sizes

The following font size options are available, listed from largest to smallest:

• eFontSize.XLarge

• eFontSize.Largest

• eFontSize.Large

• eFontSize.Regular

• eFontSize.Small

• eFontSize.Smaller

• eFontSize.XSmall

Step 1: Change the Font Size of a Question

Use the SetQuestionFontScale function to change the font size of a question.

Syntax

SetQuestionFontScale(inQuesIndex, eFontSize);

Example

The following code sets the current question's font size to Largest:

SetQuestionFontScale(CurrQues, eFontSize.Largest);

Add this code to the question's Start Script.

Step 2: Change the Font Size of Answers

Use the SetAnswerFontScale function to change the font size of all answers within a question.

Syntax

SetAnswerFontScale(inQuesIndex, eFontSize);

This function works the same way as SetQuestionFontScale, requiring the question index and the desired font size.

Step 3: Change the Font Size of Topics

Use the SetTopicFontScale function to change the font size of topics in a question.

Syntax

SetTopicFontScale(inQuesIndex, eFontSize);

Like the previous functions, it accepts the question index and the desired font size.

Step 4: Apply a Font Size to All Questions

If you want all questions in the survey to use the same font size, you do not need to add font size code to every question individually.

Instead, place the font size logic once in the survey's Advanced Scripts section. This allows you to apply a consistent font size throughout the survey while keeping the script easier to maintain.
