Sample - Flag Interviews on Distant Locations

Overview

Location is an important quality indicator that helps ensure interviews are conducted in the correct location throughout the data collection process.

SurveyToGo automatically captures the device's location at the start of every interview and associates it with the interview record. This initial location confirms where the interview began.

In some projects, however, it is also important to verify that the interview continued in the same location. To achieve this, you can place Location questions at key points in the survey—such as important chapters or at the end of the interview—to silently capture additional GPS locations.

You can then compare the captured locations in your survey script and flag interviews where the locations differ by more than an acceptable distance. This helps identify interviews that may have been continued or completed in a different location than where they started.

SurveyToGo captures automatically the available location and associates it with the interview at every interview start. That location indicates that the interview started where it was supposed to.

Often that would not be enough and you want to ensure that the interview also continued all the way through in the same location.

SurveyToGo allows you to do that with placing location questions that silently capture the location on parts of the interview (important chapters, at the end of the survey etc.)

You can then flag the interviews if the script identifies locations that are not identical or close enough.
