Displaying Different Images in Loop Iterations

Overview

In some surveys, you may need to display a large set of images inside a Loop Chapter, with a different image displayed in each iteration.

The attached sample survey demonstrates this technique. It includes a Loop Chapter that runs three times and displays a different image in each iteration.

You can review the sample by importing it into your account.

Important: Attachments included in the sample survey are not imported automatically with the survey. Follow the steps below to recreate the setup.

Step 1: Add the Images as Survey Attachments

Add the relevant image files to the survey:

1. Open the survey.

2. Go to Advanced > Edit Survey Attachments.

3. Click New.

4. Select the image you want to add.

5. Repeat this process for each image.

In the sample survey, the required attachments are:

• A.jpg

• B.jpg

• C.jpg

Step 2: Create the Attachment Source

An Attachment Source allows you to dynamically control which attachments are displayed during the interview. It creates a list of attachments that can later be associated with a specific question.

In the sample survey, the Attachment Source is named Test.

The code in this Attachment Source checks the current loop iteration and displays the corresponding image:

• Iteration 1 displays A.jpg

• Iteration 2 displays B.jpg

• Iteration 3 displays C.jpg

When implementing this in your own survey, make sure to use the list.AddFromAttachment() function and update the image names to match the attachments in your survey.

Step 3: Configure the Image Display Question

In the sample survey, Q3 is the question used to display the image.

In the Advanced tab of this question, configure the following properties:

• AdvanceAfterAttachment = True

• AttachmentSource = Test

• DisplayAttachmentsInBody = True

With this setup, the image displayed in Q3 changes dynamically based on the current loop iteration.
