Sonia: Exporting Documents

“Documents” in Sonia refers to any file that has been uploaded into Sonia. Sonia electronic forms are not considered “documents” unless they have been converted to PDF and saved to a record as a document.

Only Documents with a Document Category assigned to them can be exported.

To export documents:

1. Documents are stored against a record in Sonia
2. Identify from where the documents need to be exported: Students, Sites, Site Contacts, Supervisors, Placement Groups
3. Single-click on the appropriate module
4. Click the Search tab at the top left of the window

5. Enter any filter details as needed, such as Document Category. This will return results for all records that contain a document with this Document Category.

6. Once filter details are entered (or not), click the Search button at the right

7. Click the Export Documents button at the right end of the ribbon

8. A dialog window will open displaying documents with the filtered Document Category for the records in the search results
9. Click the white paper icon at the top right (1) to select a location to save the documents
10. Click the Export button at the bottom right

11. NOTE: Once the documents are outside Sonia, they are outside the scope of Sonia support. Sonia Support cannot assist with the files at this point.
