Story Permissions

When you create a story, you are the Story Owner and control what permissions others have. Likewise, when a story is shared with you, the owner defines your level of access.

Permission Levels

Read-Only
Share the story with Read-Only permission to allow users to:

• View items in the story

• Add comments

Collaborate
Share the story with Collaborate permission to allow users to:

• View, edit, and add items

• Add comments

Create Mode
Share the story with Create Mode permission to allow users to:

• View, edit, add, and delete items

• Edit the story structure

• Add comments

Checking Your Permissions

To check your access level, open the story and review the available modes shown in the header. These indicate your current permissions.

Stories in Teams

Teams provide a collaborative environment where all members automatically receive view-only access to team stories, even if they were not explicitly shared.

You can access your teams via the Communities tab on your dashboard, where you can view team stories and members.

Team Roles

Member
Standard access to team content.

Administrator
Admins can manage team-level settings and operations, but do not automatically have admin permissions on all team stories.

How Teams Work

All team members can access all team stories. Team administrators can perform certain actions typically reserved for story owners, meaning team stories operate with a form of shared ownership.

Team Admin Capabilities

Team administrators can:

• Transfer ownership of any team story to themselves or another team member

• Add or remove team members

• Add or remove stories from the team

Tip: To grant yourself admin permissions on a team story, transfer ownership to yourself and then back to the original owner.
