Enterprise Filter

Overview

The Enterprise Filter is used to increase the number of items and relationships available in a view by including data from other stories within the same Enterprise Solution. It effectively “tops up” your story for a specific view without permanently increasing its size.

Note: The story must be part of an Enterprise Solution to use the Enterprise Filter.

How It Works

By default, a view only displays items from its own story. The Enterprise Filter allows you to temporarily include items and relationships from other stories, making it possible to analyse data across multiple stories while keeping individual stories lightweight and performant.

Creating an Enterprise Filter

The Enterprise Filter is located in View Setup (Create mode) > Filters with the Advanced toggle enabled.

To create one:

• Enable Include items from other stories

• Open the Define Filter dialog

  •

• Select the source stories and define filter conditions

By default, up to 500 items are returned for performance reasons, but this limit can be adjusted in the Define Filter dialog.

Multiple Enterprise Filters

You can create multiple Enterprise Filters using Add Item Filter.

• Filters are combined using an AND operation

• Only items meeting all filter criteria will be returned

Selecting Source Stories

You can define which stories to pull data from in two ways:

• Manual selection from a list of stories

• Dynamic filtering using story names or story attributes

  • Dynamic filtering options include:

• • • Equals

    • Contains

    • Starts With

This approach allows new stories to be automatically included when they match defined criteria (e.g. a shared story attribute).

Note: Story attributes are configured in the Story Setup dialog within a Template.

Key Considerations

• Enterprise Filters only return items that meet all defined conditions

• They apply at the view level only, not the entire story

• Useful for cross-story analysis without impacting base story performance
