Customising Item Appearance in SharpCloud

Overview

Item Appearance allows you to display key information directly on the face of items, transforming your views into real-time dashboards with clear, at-a-glance insights.

Item appearance is configured on a view-by-view basis using the Item Appearance tab in View Setup.

Note: Category colours and panel styling can be controlled globally in Story Setup.

Available Options

You can customise item appearance using:

• Background Colour: Sets the fill colour of the item (default is category colour)
• Border Colour: Adds a coloured border based on attribute values
• Dynamic Text: Displays attribute values on the item face (in addition to name)
• Text Colour: Automatically or manually sets text colour for readability
• Shape: Changes item shape (default is category shape)
• Images: Add up to 5 data-driven images in various positions

Additional options:

• Truncate long item names
• Apply a fixed font size across items

Background and Border Colour

To apply background or border colours:

1. Open View Setup
2. Navigate to the Item Appearance tab
3. Select an attribute for Background Colour or Border Colour

Items will then be coloured based on the attribute’s label values and associated colours.

Supported attribute types:

• List attributes
• Numeric attributes with labels

These colours can also appear in interactive filters, acting as a visual legend for the view.
