Configuring Panels and Panel Content in SharpCloud

Overview

This article covers how to configure panels and their content at both item-specific and global levels.

In Connected Stories, inherited item panels must be configured in their source story. Changes follow this hierarchy: Enterprise Panel settings, Item-specific Panels, then Global Panels.

Configuring Item-specific Panels

To configure panels for a specific item:

1. Select the item and open the Edit panel from the right-hand toolbar
2. Go to the Panels tab
3. Click Edit Panels to open configuration options

Within the Edit Panels dialog, you can:

• Hide Title: Remove the panel title
• Order: Reorder panels using numeric or decimal values
• Background: Set panel background colour
• Border: Set panel border colour
• Visible: Control whether the panel is displayed

Click Update Panels to save changes.

Configuring Global Panels

Global panels are configured in Story Setup and apply across items.

Settings include:

• Hide Title
• Order
• Background
• Border
• Inherits Down (Enterprise feature controlling whether panels propagate through templates)
  • Available from SharpCloud v9.1.0116 onwards.

Item-specific changes override global panel settings where applicable.

Adding or Editing Panel Content at Item Level

Panel content can be edited in two ways:

1. Through the Edit Item panel
2. Directly on the panel using the pencil icon

This opens the panel in edit mode, allowing content to be added or updated.

Adding or Editing Panel Content at Global Level

Global panel content is configured in Story Setup using the panel edit (pencil) option.

Content added at the global level appears on all items unless overridden at the item level.

For example, you can create a relationship panel with filters that apply across all relevant items.

If a panel has been modified at the item level, updating it globally will prompt:

• Yes: Overwrites item-level changes
• No: Applies changes only to items not previously modified
