Background

The Drag and Drop Coding feature can be tricky.  It relies on the device mouse settings in addition to NVivo.

Solution

To use the Drag and Drop with a mouse or trackpad:

1. Highlight the text you want to code.
2. Release the mouse and ensure the text stays highlighted.
3. Long click the highlighted text again until the icon changes to a hand.
   1. On the trackpad you may have to hover over the highlighted passage for a second before long-clicking. 
4. Drag the text to the desired code and release the mouse.
