Error:

unable to extend the current license. the new key is invalid

 

Causes and Solutions:

1. Early releases of NVivo 15 may not work with current NVivo license keys. 
   1. Please try uninstalling NVivo and reinstalling from the appropriate link below:
      1. Win: https://download.qsrinternational.com/Software/NVivo15/NVivo.x64.exe
      2. Mac: https://download.qsrinternational.com/Software/NVivo15forMac/NVivo15.dmg
2. Replace or Reinstall
   1. If several users are getting this error with an organizational key, contact the IT department to request a new key.
   2. If you are the only user with the issue and on Windows, uninstall and reinstall NVivo.
   3. If you are the only user with the issue and on a Mac, please create a case from the Lumivero Community Home Page for assistance.
   4. If you chose Replace License when the error occurs:
      
      1. 1. If the key is valid, choose Activate license on the license dialog.

NOTE: Use Replace License to activate a new key in replacement of one that hasn't expired yet. (ex. replacing a trial with a subscription).
