XLSTAT silent installation and uninstallation on Windows

Overview
A silent (unattended) installation runs without user interaction by reading settings from the installer.

Silent installs ensure consistent configuration across multiple machines and are typically used by system administrators.

XLSTAT provides MSI packages for 32-bit and 64-bit installations

• Use the package that matches the installed Microsoft Excel bitness.
• Do not mix 32-bit and 64-bit XLSTAT or mix MSI-based installs with regular attended installs: use the same method to update or uninstall.

Prerequisites
Download the appropriate installer:

• XLSTAT MSI Installer (32-bit)
• XLSTAT MSI Installer (64-bit)
• Install the matching Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable (32- or 64-bit to match XLSTAT).
• Run all msiexec commands from an elevated (administrator) command prompt.

Opening an elevated command prompt
- Press Windows + S, type cmd, then choose “Run as administrator.”

Silent installation
You can double-click an MSI to run an attended install, or use msiexec for a silent install. Example command (adjust the file path and file name as needed; quote paths containing spaces):

msiexec /qn /i "C:\path\to\xlstat_x86.msi"

Notes:
- /qn = silent, no UI
- /i = install
- Use the 64-bit MSI if Excel is 64-bit, otherwise use the 32-bit MSI

Silent uninstallation
Ensure XLSTAT is closed. Use the same MSI file that was used for installation to uninstall silently. Example:

msiexec /qn /x "C:\path\to\xlstat_x86.msi"

Notes:
- /x = uninstall
- Run from an elevated command prompt

Customizing the installer with properties
You can pass properties on the msiexec command line to customize installation. Format:

msiexec /qn /i "xlstat_x86.msi" OPTION1=VALUE OPTION2="VALUE WITH SPACES"

Common properties
INSTALLDIR: installation directory (any valid path). Default:
  32-bit default: C:\Program Files (x86)\Addinsoft\XLSTAT
  64-bit default: C:\Program Files\Addinsoft\XLSTAT
INSTALLLANG: UI language (US, FR, DE, IT, ES, PT, CN, JP). Default: system language or English.
ALLUSERSSETTINGS: add XLSTAT ribbon to Excel for all users (0 or 1). Default: 0
USEREXPERIENCE: enable crash reporting (0 or 1). Default: 1
CHECKFORUPDATE: enable automatic update checks (0 or 1). Default: 1
NOTIFICATION: enable XLSTAT notifications (0 or 1). Default: 1
PROXYHOST: proxy hostname or IP for updates/activation. Default: none
PROXYPORT: proxy port (1–65535). Default: none
SERVERHOST: license server hostname/IP (for network licenses). Default: none
SERVERPORT: license server port (1–65535). Default: 7070

Examples
Install to a custom folder and set language to French:
msiexec /qn /i "C:\path\xlstat_x86.msi" INSTALLDIR="C:\XLSTAT" INSTALLLANG=FR

Install with network license server configured:
msiexec /qn /i "C:\path\xlstat_x86.msi" SERVERHOST=licenseserver.example.com SERVERPORT=7070

Important cautions
- Match XLSTAT bitness to Excel bitness; do not install both bitnesses.
- Do not mix MSI installs with regular attended installs for the same machine.
- Update or uninstall using the same MSI method used for installation.
- Run all msiexec commands elevated (administrator).
