Duplicate Labels in Tornado Graphs

Explanation

Duplicate labels appear because two inputs have the same name. This can happen if:

• You explicitly assigned the same name to multiple inputs.

• You left inputs unnamed, and @RISK assigned default names based on nearby text.

 

Solution

1. Rename Inputs: Open the Model Window, locate the inputs with duplicate names, and edit the Name column to give each input a unique name.

2. Check for Same-Cell Inputs: If multiple inputs are combined in one formula cell, consider whether they should be treated as a single input.

3. Use RiskCompound for Maybe-Yes/Maybe-No Risks:
   Instead of separate formulas like:
   =RiskBernoulli(0.4)*RiskTriang(10,25,40)
   or
   =IF(RiskBinomial(1,0.4)=1, RiskTriang(10,25,40),0)
   use:
   =RiskCompound(RiskBernoulli(0.4), RiskTriang(10,25,40))
   This counts as a single input in tornado graphs, simplifying the display.

4. Use RiskMakeInput to Wrap Formulas:
   If you want the tornado chart to treat a formula result as one input rather than individual distributions, wrap it in RiskMakeInput:
   =RiskMakeInput(formula, RiskName(inputname))

These approaches ensure that each tornado bar has a unique label and represents the input as intended.
