Why do @RISK distributions in my decision tree sometimes show values and sometimes #N/A during a simulation?

 

Answer:

In PrecisionTree, open Model Settings and go to the @RISK tab.

• If “Values of one sampled path through the model” is selected under “Each @RISK iteration calculate,”
  • @RISK evaluates only one randomly chosen path per iteration.
  • Distributions on other paths are not calculated and therefore show #N/A.
  • When a simulation is not running, all distributions show values because the whole model is evaluated statically.
• If you change the setting to “Expected values of the model,”
  • all branches and distributions are recalculated on every iteration, and the root node value is based on the optimal path for that iteration.
